Fans of Disney comics in particular might notice that Tim bares a strong resemblance to Mickey Mouse’s identical nephews, Morty and Ferdie. As with all adaptions of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge realizing that his actions could inadvertently lead to the death of Crachit’s sickly child, Tiny Tim, plays an important role in making the miser see the error of his ways, so its only natural that they should be depicted together in this joyful scene. Perhaps the merriest of all of these windows is the one depicting the story’s ending, in which the reformed Scrooge rushes over to the Crachit household on Christmas morning to bestow gifts to the children and give Bob a long-overdue raise. to see some of its most memorable scenes recreated in six charming window displays. Any fans of this Christmas classic visiting Magic Kingdom during the holiday season should be sure to stop by the “Emporium” on Main Street U.S.A. In a bit of perfect casting, Scrooge McDuck was cast as his namesake, Ebenezer Scrooge, while Mickey Mouse took on the role of Scrooge’s overworked assistant, Bob Crachit. Among my favorites is “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” a 1983 retelling of the classic Charles Dickens tale with Mickey Mouse and friends playing all the parts. Christmas is nearly upon us, and for many of us that means it’s time to revisit some of our favorite holiday-themed movies and TV specials.
